this song gets me every single time.

[original]

[acoustic]

[florence & the machine]

i remember listening to this song so much before i left for my trip to el salvador. fast forward three years & i find myself listening to the acoustic cover of this song, and dancing around my dorm room to florence & the machine's bad ass version of this song (seriously can i be her in my next life). i love how this song is the most unconventional gospel song. yet you see thousands of people dance to it at the glastonbury festival! i discovered this song in a sex & the city episode (don't hate!). it instantly became a song i played to death. i get kind of nostalgic listening to it, because i remember listening to it when i was just about to go on this grand adventure to work in an orphanage for 8 months! finding this song again brings back some of those feelings especially since i just came back from indonesia. this song got me thinking about some of my adventures over the past few years...

moving to nebraska for school.
adding another major.
teaching english again.
getting an opportunity to intern for a huge NGO.
volunteering in an orphanage again.

all these things were UNEXPECTED (like last-minute going to Argentina). some were SCARY (nebraska + another major, seriously?). some were LIFE CHANGING (i will never forget staying up late with the kids & cracking jokes till my ribs hurt from laughing in an orphanage in indonesia).

i've come to realize & still learn that when i let God in my life, and i mean really and truly let go and say "take the wheel cause i don't know how to drive on this road called life"...when that truly happens AMAZING things come out of it.

not to say that there won't be "sh**-hits-the-ceiling" type of days. because pain, brokeness, and loneliness will always be present. but i know even through all that i have something true & constant in that...

i got a love that will see me through every single thing.

nothing can mess with that.

"Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying "Lord I just don't care"
But you've got the love I need to see me through"
