in the past two years i've traveled to El Salvador, Honduras, and Argentina.
& it never ceases to amaze me when i meet people who even in conditions of
poverty or the daily busyness of life take the time to do good to someone else.
i've met a couple in argentina (Graciella & Juan) who gave up living in the city to go live
in a remote community so people can see what love & compassion looks like.
i met the Luna family who mentors a kid living across their house so he won't be another "statistic." when that kid hangs out with them i can just tell he feels like a million bucks.
i met Paco who saw me shivering one night, joked about how cold Argentina can get, & took the chullito (hat) right off of his head and gave it to me as a gift so i could stay warm.
i've met people whose given countless of hours away to feed, clothe, talk to, joke around with,
love, and make someone breathe a little easier. some of these people are poor, they have a heavy work day load, yet they still find a way to live love out.
here's to the brave one's who are not afraid to look at greed, corruption, poverty, mediocrity, & hate...and kiss it on the face with love, compassion, mercy, strength, grace, and kindness.
here's to them.
